Lead Data Scientist (ONS, May 2022 - Present)

• Led two agile teams of eight staff to consistently deliver innovative digital solutions, achieving key milestones such as the Explore Subnational Statistics and Climate Change portals, by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Forged strong collaborative relationships across directorates and departments (e.g. DLUCH, and DESNZ), meeting ONS' data strategy and contributing to my directorate's key priorities of legacy reduction and building a platform for the future.
• Spearheaded adoption of W3C standards at ONS amongst several cross-functional teams, significantly enhancing data dissemination practices and quality, contributing to FTE cost reduction.
• Co-authored ONS Dissemination's application profile, prioritising FAIR and Linked Data principles, backed by RDF and other W3 standards, which facilitates improved data interchange within ONS and beyond.
• Created a multi-year strategic roadmap for ONS Dissemination, transitioning services from legacy systems to a strategic platform, significantly enhancing data accessibility and utility across government, business, and by the wider public.
• Designed and executed outreach and training programs across civil service resulting in the up-skilling of analysts and elevating the ONS' standing in the application of W3C standards in data management.
• Synthesised complex data principles into actionable insights for senior leadership, ensuring non-technical stakeholders were well-informed and provide external pressure to ensure FAIR data adoption across all their in strategic decision-making processes.
• Managed ONS/IDS's linked data service using multiple SPARQL endpoints to provide a broader domain coverage without duplication, supported by CSV-Ws stored across several GitHub repositories. By supporting flexible tooling aligning to our ONS' Disseminations application profile, stats producers could easily contribute to our FAIR linked data repositories.

• Co-founded 'csvcubed', a FAIR standards backed open source tool to build CSV-W, promoting public sector data democratisation, alignment with the GDS's vision for open standards, in an analyst friendly python command line tool for integration in reproducible analytical pipelines.
